This itinerary starts from Tehran the capital of the country, goes to the north of Iran and the Caspian Sea then continues to the northwest of Iran. In this itinerary, you will visit 6 UNESCO heritage sites. This tour is a mixture of sightseeing and cultural, while you are trekking in the less-visited villages and enjoying the natural landscapes, the next stop may dazzle you with the rich cultural and historical facts of this vast country.
Arrive at Tehran’s international airport. Meet and greet by our driver and transferred to the hotel. check-in and rest.
In the morning you can visit some of the most significant museums and palaces in Tehran. You will have a walking tour in the old part of Tehran which has been the capital of Iran since 1797. The tour includes Golestan Palace (UNESCO site) and Tehran Grand Bazaar. Then walk to the National Museum of Tehran and Jewelry Museum, where you can see a collection of the most outstanding gems in the world. (the museum opens Saturday till Tuesday, from 14:00 to 16:00). In the afternoon walk on the Nature Bridge (Pol-e Tabi’at) to have an overview of the city.
In the morning drive to Bandar Anzali a city which lies at the coast of the Caspian Sea. You will enjoy the scenic road, the Caspian Hyrcanian Forest En-route in Manjil, you visit Windfarm and in Rasht, the Saravan Forest and taste different Persian cuisine (Rasht designated as UNESCO creative city of gastronomy). In the evening go to Bandar Anzali, check-in the hotel.
In the morning you visit the beautiful lagoon with lotus flowers in Bandar Anzali. There you can watch the memorable scene birds flying in the sky. Then you drive to visit RudKhan Castle; it is a brick and stone medieval castle which once was military complex. Drive toward Masuleh, check-in the local houses and rest.
Masuleh village has a unique architecture. The buildings are interconnected and have been built into the mountain. The roofs of the houses serve as pedestrian and courtyard for the upper houses. No vehicle or motor is permitted to enter the city. You walk in the city and enjoy local people selling their handicrafts. After 3 or 4 hours wandering in the town, drive toward Masal, a city in height.
Surprise! When you get up in the morning you see yourselves up on the clouds. The city is famous for its waterfalls. You experience interesting sightseeing while Trekking and enjoying your time for some hours. You will depart to Sarein. It takes some hours to arrive since you stop on the way to watch beautiful places such as in Poonel Jungle. The road is famous for the most scenic one. Arriving at Sarein and rest in the hotel.
After breakfast visit the Ardabil, It is famous for its trade in silk and carpets. In the morning visit Sheikh Safi al-din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble in Ardabil (UNESCO). It was built as a small microcosmic city with bazaars, public baths, squares, religious buildings, houses, and offices. Then go to Sarein city which means “Spring’s Outlet”. The Sarein springs are near an inactive volcano in mount Sabalan and its water contains Sulphur particles and it is believed that it is good for bone and joint pains. In the evening drive to Tabriz. Check-in the hotel and rest.
In the morning visit Kabud Mosque (Blue Mosque) with intricately-painted, brilliantly blue tiles and calligraphy. With a short walk near the Blue Mosque, you will visit the Iron Age Museum. Then visit Shams-e Tabrizi Tomb who is a famous poet and credit as the instructor of Rumi.
In the afternoon walk in the Grand Bazaar, the longest roofed bazaar and the only one on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The present-day structure, a vast maze-like complex of bricked arches and vaulted passageways, still evokes the spirit of its earliest days when Tabriz was one of the most important commercial centers along the ancient Silk Road. End your day by visiting Shah Golu (El-Golu).
In the morning have an excursion to the north of the province while Aras river the border of Iran and Armenia follows you to visit along the road. The Armenia Monastic Ensemble is the three most important Armenia churches (UNESCO). Visit Saint Stepanos Monastery, The Chapel of Dzor Dzor and Saint Thaddeus Cathedral. The latter is the oldest church in the world. Drive back to Tabriz and rest.
In the morning take a 30 minutes trip to Kandovan. This village exemplifies manmade cliff dwellings that are still inhabited. Homes carved inside rocks, some of them 700 years old, the Kandovan village is said to have been partially formed by volcanic remains from a strong Mount Sahand eruptions hundreds of years ago. After lunch drive about 5 h toward Takab. Arrive in Takab, Check-in the hotel and rest.
In the morning visit Takht-e Soleiman (Throne of Solomon) or Azar Goshnasb (Fire of Warriors), It is a must-visit site on your trip to Iran. The site dated back to the first millennium BC functioned as an educational, religious and worship place in the pre-Islamic era. The complex consists of Palaces, fire temples, the Prison of Solomon and a mysterious lake. After lunch drive back to Tabriz. Go to the airport for your international flight.
