Iran E-visa procedure via authorization code
Almost all nationalities require a visa to visit Iran. Join a valid tour operator in Iran to facilitate the visa process and provide you with the 18-digit visa authorization number needed to collect your visa. Please read three steps to get all the necessary information.
Step 1: Send the required documents to our visa department [email protected]
- A scan of the first page of passports that has at least 6 months of validity
- A personal photo with a solid background is required, and ladies are not obligated to wear head coverings.
- Fill out the visa application form (download the form).
Step 2: As soon as we have received your documents, we will apply for the visa authorization code. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) sends the visa code to the agency within 10 business days.
Step 3: We will send you the visa code, and once you receive the visa authorization code, you should apply directly to collect your visa based on the place of issue you specified—either at the Iranian embassy in your country or at one of Iran’s international airports (Tehran, Shiraz, Tabriz, Isfahan, Mashhad).
For collecting your visa you need to bring:
- 18-digit authorization code
- Provide your passport.
- Two Personal photos
- Travel itinerary
- The fee for the Iran visa stamp varies based on your nationality, ranging from €30 to €75.
- Insurance
Note:Each embassy may need different required documents for collecting your visa; in some cases, it is not obligatory to collect your visa in person; thus, you can send your documents. You must have checked all the information before submitting your application. Collecting your visa may take 3 days or more, depending on the Iranian embassy in your country.

Iran visa on arrival (VOA)
You can get a visa upon arrival at any of Iran’s international airports if you have the required documents. Although Iran offers the option of obtaining a visa on arrival, Join Iran Travel Agency recommends that you secure your travel plans and save time at the airport by applying for your visa in advance.
Iran visa for Canadian, American and British Passport Holders:
The Iran tourist visa procedure is different for the citizens of Canada, America, and Britain due to political policy. They must apply for a visa authorization code through a valid travel agency based in Iran with a prefixed itinerary and travel dates. It takes 1-2 months for the MFA to issue the visa authorization code and applicants can collect their visas at the Iranian embassy in their country. A tour guide accompanies them from beginning to end.
Required documents for Canadians, Americans and British:

Remember:
– These nationalities can not get visa-on-arrival (VOA).
– US/American citizens can have collected and stamped their visas at the interest section of the Iranian embassy in Washington, DC.
– These nationalities can travel to Iran’s free zone for 14 days without any visa. Iran’s free zones attract tourists yearly: Kish Island, Qeshm Island, Chabahar, Maku, Arvand, Anzali, and Aras
Which nationalities are Visa-Free?
Based on mutual agreement in terms of international law and regulations, the following nationalities can enter Iran without any visa and stay for 14 days. They can extend their visa by paying a small amount of money at the affiliated to MFA offices in Iran:
Azerbaijan, Turkey, China, Lebanon, Georgia, Malaysia, Egypt, Armenia, Venezuela, Bolivia and Syria.
How to provide a suitable passport scan?
The scan of your passport is a vital part of the visa application. To ensure the acceptable format for the MFA please review the details on how to provide a suitable one.
Your scan of the passport must be:
- In color
- In JPEG (.jpg) file format
- Equal to or less than 500 kB (kilobytes) in file size (less than 10 kB is not accepted)
- In a rectangular aspect ratio ( height must less than width)
- Sharp without any visible pixel
- Clear and all character must be readable
- Properly exposed ( too dark or light is not acceptable)
